Analysis tools
Make sure you have the necessary tools connected to your site to understand your SEO (e.g. Google Analytics and Search Console), what is working and what could be improved.
Your keywords
Depending on your area of expertise, ask yourself which keywords would be most relevant, now and in the future – make a prioritized list. Put yourself in the shoes of your target customers (personas).
Technical SEO
Optimize the SEO Title and SEO Description fields to be as relevant as possible. Why should a potential new customer visit your site? Ideally, this should also be done on all pages of the site.
Relevant content
Take the time to create the content necessary to demonstrate your capabilities in your field of expertise. Why should you be the best answer to certain questions in the search engines? Include your keywords in your content in a natural way. Quality over quantity is the watchword.
Blog and FAQ
Create or optimize your blog section with value-added content that demonstrates your credibility. A FAQ (frequently asked questions) section is also a good tool to answer common questions about yourself, your products and services.
SEO images
Image searches account for about 20% of Google’s organic traffic. Take the time to describe your images by naming them (file name). Ideally, also fill in the Alt tag.
User experience (UX)
User experience is now an important factor in SEO. Do your visitors enjoy the time they spend on your site? Find the balance between function and aesthetics. Can visitors quickly understand what you are offering? Does the site display well and quickly on mobile devices? Is it secure?
Marketing
Now you need to find ways to get the word out about yourself. Start with your digital marketing tools (social media, newsletter, Google My Business). Ask your contacts, suppliers, etc. to make links to your site. You can also develop an influencer or digital advertising campaign.
Organic SEO (definition):
The set of techniques that aim to improve the positioning of a page, a site or a web application in the search engine results page – naturally.
