PME Résilientes : a program to help retailers adapt their business model to a new reality

Registration for the PME Résilientes support program are now closed

City of Montréal and the Québec government want to support businesses in their economic recovery. In this context, the Conseil québécois du commerce de détail (CQCD), in partnership with the City of Montréal, is happy to present Resilient SMEs, a customized coaching program to help entrepreneurs and businesses with the improvement of their business situation. This free, customized, 10-hour coaching program, will take place within an area of expertise defined by the retailer, among the following choices.

Coaching Topics

Digital Shift and Technological Capacity
→ Advice and support for the creation of a transactional website
→ Analyzing an existing transactional website, identifying improvements and support for the implementation of recommended solutions
→ Enhancing the newsletter and email marketing
→ Online advertisements
HR Coaching
→ Employer branding basics
→ Employee and/or candidate feedback
→ Mobilization of staff in times of crisis
Logistics and Procurement
→ Return management
→ Tools for small businesses
→ Mastering logistics processes
→ Transport pooling
Marketing & Communications
→ Preparing a communication plan
→ Creating content
→ Brand and corporate strategy
Consumer experience
→ The in-store client experience
→ Complaint management in times of crisis

In addition to a 10-hour coaching plan in one of the above-mentioned areas, you will receive a 5-hour advisory service with a human resources expert.

Eligibility Criteria

Coached merchants should meet the following eligibility criteria:
→ Be located in the city of Montréal agglomeration
→ Less than 250 employees – The retailer should not employ more than 250 people. As for banners, their head office must be in Montréal and have 250 employees or less, including all its stores.
→ Having at least 3 hours per week to dedicate to their improvement project
→ Showing motivation to participate in the program
→ Being a retailer in one of the following sectors :

Coaching Process

  1. A neutral advisor from the CQCD in connection with the selected coaching topic, will be assigned to the retailer.
  2. A  diagnostic call to understand your reality (identifying your needs, constraints, objectives)
  3. An action plan is established and presented to the retailer.
  4. The advisor is present and available to guide the retailer in the implementation of the action plan

When external expertise is required, CQCD advisors will help retailers access external advisory services.

  1. A neutral CQCD advisor is assigned to the retailer.
  2. A diagnosis on their business situation is made
  3. Identification of a need and writing specifications
  4. Request for quote, analysis and selection of a supplier
  5. The advisor remains present to support the merchant through its relationship with the supplier. (an assessment is conducted by the advisor at the beginning of the mandate to estimate the number of hours that should be dedicated to following up with the supplier.)
