Luciano Barin Cruz

Luciano Barin Cruz is a full professor in the Department of Management at HEC Montreal. He is Director of the Ideos Pole (social impact) at HEC Montreal, Director of the McGill-HEC Montreal EMBA ‘Sustainability Challenge’ module. He is also responsible for the creation of an ecosystem on societal impact for HEC Montreal’s strategic plan and holds a research professorship on organizational models and social impact. Professor Barin Cruz has worked on multiple projects in the areas of social impact, international development and sustainable development. His projects have been developed in collaboration with and with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Government of Quebec, Développement international Desjardins, BINAM of the City of Montreal, Espace pour la Vie, TV5 Canada, among many others. He currently leads the SEED Network, an initiative to build the capacity of local microfinance and entrepreneurship promoters in developing countries. He is also Chair of the Board of Directors of the Maison de l’innovation sociale (MIS) and a member of the Board of Directors of HEC Montréal. His research projects focus on sustainable development, social responsibility and social impact and have been published in journals such as Journal of Management Studies, Organization, World Development, Business & Society, Journal of Business Ethics, Management Decision, Journal of Cleaner Production, among others.
