It provides solutions to various issues related to the application of the Act, particularly concerning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">consumer goods;<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">language in the workplace;<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">public signage and commercial advertising;<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">the language of reception and service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Since the adoption of the Charter of the French Language in 1977, businesses operating in Quebec have been required to use the French language, both in the workplace and in business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On June 1, 2022, the Act Respecting the Official and Common Language of Quebec, French, was sanctioned. This law amends the Charter of the French Language, notably several provisions affecting businesses operating in Quebec. French is notably the normal and customary language of work, commerce, and business.\n    <\/div>\n\n    <h2 target class=\"c-title    c-title--300\" style=\"--title-emphasis-color: var(--color-root-white);\">\n        Your obligations\n            <\/h2>\n\n                                        \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"c-typography  u-mt-6 c-typography--paragraph-size\" style=\"--typography-paragraph-font-size: var(--font-size-180); --typography-max-width: 100%;\">\n    <ul>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Respect the right of your workers to carry out their activities in French. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Use French in written communications addressed to your staff and the workers&#8217; association representing them. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Write job offers, individual employment contracts, job application forms, documents related to working conditions, and training materials intended for your staff in French.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Take reasonable measures to avoid requiring knowledge of a language other than French for job access or retention, by meeting the following conditions:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Evaluate the actual linguistic needs associated with the tasks to be performed;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Ensure that the linguistic skills already required of other staff members are insufficient to perform the tasks in question;<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Minimize the number of positions requiring knowledge of another language as much as possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Ensure that by June 1, 2025, French appears prominently in the public exterior signage of your trademark if it is in a language other than French. The same rule applies to the public exterior signage of your business name if it includes an expression from a language other than French. Respect the right of consumers to be informed and served in French. Depending on an employee&#8217;s job category and assigned tasks, this ability can be assessed through verbal or written exchanges with colleagues, superiors, or clients. Communicating in French implies, for example, being able to understand work instructions, attend meetings, follow training, write or share work documents (memos, reports, forms, etc.), and serve clients in French.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Which businesses are subject to this declaration?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Starting June 1, 2023, both newly registered and existing businesses with 5 to 49 employees must declare the proportion of their employees who are unable to communicate in French.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">How should I declare this information if the employee range declared in the register does not match the range subject to the obligation?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">If the employee range declared in the register is &#8220;From 1 to 5,&#8221; the business must declare the proportion of employees who are unable to communicate in French if it has 5 employees. This process is not necessary for a business with 1 to 4 employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">How often should I update the information?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">If there is a change in the business, you must update the information declared in the register by producing, within 30 days of the change date, either an annual update declaration, if the production period is ongoing; or a current update declaration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Is this information public?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: FR-CA;\">Yes. de commerce ou le nom d\u2019entreprise qui est dans une autre langue que le fran\u00e7ais peut demeurer dans cette langue, \u00e0 condition toutefois que le texte en fran\u00e7ais qui l\u2019accompagne figure de fa\u00e7on nettement pr\u00e9dominante.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Le texte en fran\u00e7ais doit avoir, dans un m\u00eame champ visuel, un impact visuel beaucoup plus important que le texte dans une autre langue, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire qu\u2019il doit :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">occuper un espace deux fois plus grand que le texte \u00e9crit dans une autre doivent donc respecter les dispositions de la Charte si les conditions suivantes sont pr\u00e9sentes :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">L&#8217;entreprise est \u00e9tablie au Qu\u00e9bec (personne morale ou personne physique exploitant une entreprise au Qu\u00e9bec).<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Le m\u00e9dia social est celui qui est officiellement utilis\u00e9 et publicis\u00e9 par l&#8217;entreprise.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Le contenu du m\u00e9dia social vise le march\u00e9 qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Le contenu diffus\u00e9 est soumis aux dispositions de la Charte, notamment s&#8217;il s&#8217;agit :<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">d&#8217;informations destin\u00e9es au march\u00e9 qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois;<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">d&#8217;informations de nature commerciale (annonces de soldes, promotion de la marque de commerce en pr\u00e9vision d&#8217;actes commerciaux, textes, photos ou vid\u00e9os de nature commerciales faisant la promotion d&#8217;un bien ou d&#8217;un service, listes de produits, prix, photos de produits, etc.);<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">d&#8217;informations relatives \u00e0 d&#8217;autres communications ou \u00e0 des services destin\u00e9s au public (coordonn\u00e9es, trajet, etc.);<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">d&#8217;offres d&#8217;emploi et de promotion;<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">de formulaires de demandes d&#8217;emploi;<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">de contrats d&#8217;adh\u00e9sion (exemples : souscription ou adh\u00e9sion \u00e0 un service, \u00e0 une carte de fid\u00e9lit\u00e9);<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">de bons de commande, de factures et de re\u00e7us;<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">de contenu statique (description
