The situation of the French language in Quebec is regularly in the news. It\u2019s a sensitive issue. It has a strong socio-political context. Statistics show that the use of French in Quebec has been declining for several years. This is especially true in the greater Montreal area. It\u2019s everyone\u2019s responsibility to contribute to the development of the French language in Quebec: the government, the general public, companies, and businesses.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Retail Council of Quebec offers you this francization guide to support businesses in their efforts to promote and use quality French. You\u2019ll find contextual and practical information, including a checklist, on your obligations as an employer and business owner.<\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019ll find that with the right approach, francization has many advantages. It\u2019s not as complex as you might think. The Office qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois de la langue fran\u00e7aise also offers the service M\u00e9mo, mon assistant pour la francisation. This service is intended for companies with fewer than 50 employees.<\/span><\/p>\n

This guide has been produced in collaboration with Anik Pelletier, a francization specialist who offers support services to companies and businesses, and Me Lara Daniel, a lawyer specializing in francization and intellectual property at the law firm LDAL\u00c9GAL Inc. It is made possible by a financial contribution from the Office.<\/span><\/p>\n
