Office québécois de la langue française

The Office québécois de la langue française is a state body whose mission is defined by the Charter and the regulations governing its application. It “ensures that French is the normal and usual language of work, communications, commerce and business in the administration and companies”. Since October 1, 2002, in addition to ensuring compliance with the Charter and its regulations, the Office has also been monitoring developments in the linguistic situation in Quebec.
