Adapting while doing your part

Montreal, December 2, 2020 – Following Minister Geneviève Guilbault’s announcement on the preventive measures in place to limit the risk of outbreaks in businesses and shopping centers, The Quebec Retail Council (CQCD) is very happy that retailers can stay open, understands the issue and encourages retailers to continue to abide by public health rules.

“A majority of retailers are already acting responsibly to enforce the required health and distancing rules. They will be even more diligent to maintain their opening privilege during this important period of traffic.

Our priority is that businesses can remain open for the next few weeks despite some additional management challenges. The CQCD is however confident since retailers have complied as much as possible with the health rules imposed since the start of the pandemic.

The Quebec Retail Council (CQCD) encourages the population to change their shopping habits for the Holidays, in order to minimize the number of people in public places, either by purchasing online or by shopping in quieter periods of traffic instead of peak periods, while continuing to prioritize local purchasing and products. “
